Dating Book!

I finished my dating advice book!
Finally! I ordered it today, I hope it arrives soon and looks good and everything.
Rah!
46 pages, 20 original illustrations!

Also this blog is now www.nikkidesautelle.com. Good enough for now.

COOL!

This is a sponsored project from Somerset mall. They are making the winning designs into reusable shopping bags. I entered in three times and here are my entries. I had some versions where I incorporated the slogan "you belong here" but I took them all out because it looked creepy. Instead the legs and the star are the slogan. I wanted to keep it really simple. Also, I think I can finally stop drawing street plans of Detroit.

I'm really glad this project is over. I've been awake since 7 am yesterday, and I can't decide whether to push through the pain and do some work on my dating book now, or try and wake up late tonight and start a nocturnal lifestyle.

Schrodinger's cat is ready for the weekend.

It's unbelievable how hard I am laughing right now.
Casual Friday at the lab.

Here are some more illustrations from my zombie book. It's almost done. It's 24 pages and I'm going to self-publish at this copy center I used to work at. FUN! Books are kind of making my brain collapse atm.

The red are the regular humans and the yellow are the zombies.

ZOO POSTER!

Oh man, I am so glad this project is over. Short deadlines are exhilarating. Zebras are weird.

ALSO:
The Paul Shaffer et al. Show is on Thursday! I can't believe it's here already!

I spelled retrospective wrong on the first draft of this flyer that I got approved for posting and make copies of. D'OH!!!!
Fixing it.

Back to school!! I went to New York for Spring break and it was great! I went to a taping of the Late Show and ate a lot of pizza.

I've been drawing animals a lot because we're doing a project in school making a poster for the zoo. I painted this sad bear. I'll make a happier picture for the actual poster.

The week before spring break's hallway show was Ernest but no one did one because that week was pretty lunatic. Whatever. Here was mine.

Also, here's a picture I photoshopped of John Malkovich as Nosferatu.

This week's hallway show is Joan Rivers.

Make a Joan, tape it up.

halp!

OK so here are the starts of two pictures for a story I wrote about zombies that I'm illustrating for senior studio. I can't decide if I want to finish them digitally, or use these as a color study/layout and do them traditionally. What do you think, friends?

I don't know about the trees on this one. Ovals? Tear drops? Pine trees?

The fingerprint is my friend Zak Frieling's thumb. All the fingerprints I did looked terrible because my whorls are weird and I was sloppy. GOOD THUMBS, ZAK! Also the head profile looks exactly like a head profile I did in London as an illustration for "The Long Rain" by Ray Bradbury. Whoops.

This week's hallways show is Stephen Schudlich. It's gonna be a good one.

Make a Stephen, tape it up.

Also, here's an IN PROG shot of this other thing I'm making.

This week's hallway show is Chairry.

I'm going to try and take this and make it into an actual composition.

And SARS

Here's a picture of my friend Mike Burdick. He was on the computer, I guess something important was happening.

These are some of my friends in my class today. I am trying out coloring things the Maria/Don way.
Also, I have a big crush on big noses.

One of these drawings does not belong because Angel was sitting right next to me so I stopped trying to be a spy and just looked directly at him.
